Apprenticeships

Many young adults benefit from traditional college programs, however, there are other options that can lead to good salaries and meaningful careers. A lot of current job openings require skills somewhere between a high school credential and a 4-year degree to get started. Registered Apprenticeship is one of these opportunities.

Industry Partnerships

Industry Partnerships convene business leaders from the same sector to address shared challenges and needs of their industry. Industry Partnerships work with economic, workforce, education and community organizations to build stronger more competitive industries through collaboration. Partnerships are business driven and action oriented with leaders determining the priorities that move the partnership forward.

Incumbent Worker Training

Incumbent worker training is designed to meet the needs of an employer to increase competitiveness, retain a skilled workforce or avert the need to layoff employees.  Training may include the up-skilling of an employer’s current workforce which may lead to additional opportunities for advancement. Companies located in the Northern Tier may apply for Incumbent Worker training funds. Incumbent worker is defined as an individual who has worked with the employer for six months or more.
